CIO Roundtables

eSentio leads monthly Legal CIO Roundtables in Atlanta, Chicago and a combined group from San Francisco and Los Angeles. The objective of these Roundtables is to provide a forum for legal technology leaders to meet, network and educate one another on the challenges facing their organizations.
Many traditional businesses and law firms do not effectively address the need for key IT personnel to interact on a professional level with individuals outside of their organization. The eSentio Legal CIO Roundtables provide an alternative forum for managers of AMLAW 200 firms to meet on a regular basis to discuss challenges confronting them.
We find that these discussions are especially beneficial to key IT management, who want to connect to other individuals who have recently conquered a particular obstacle that they are dealing with.
Our Roundtables have been organized for the following managerial groups at AMLAW 200 firms:
- Chief Information Officers (CIO)
- IT Directors
- IT Advisory Committee Members
- Executive Directors
Annual CIO Retreat
This event brings together industry leaders worldwide to discuss pressing topics, new developments, best practices and emerging trends impacting large law firms and the legal industry.
eSentio hosts the legal industry’s thought leaders for a dynamic forum of law firm professionals.
The eSentio CIO Retreat is designed as an information and idea exchange to explore the challenges and opportunities facing law firms today.

Chicago Roundtable
Host: Virtual
Topic: During our last CIO Roundtable, there was a growing focus on ChatGPT and its impact on the practice of law. It is safe to say that it is top of mind for every Board Room, General Counsel’s office, Innovation and KM professionals and for CIOs. Therefore, the topic for our next Roundtable on Wednesday March 15th will be ChatGPT Trends, Impacts and Implications where we will further this discussion by digging deeper on the trends in the market, the potential impacts to law firms and implications for the Firm and the CIO. During this session we will explore:
• The pace of adoption is head-turning with A&O’s partnership with Harvey and many other firms starting their quest to find out how to use it. Already A&O reports 3,500 attorneys trying Harvey.
• With ChatGPT 4 rumored to improve from 175 million parameters to over a trillion, the good and the bad of Generative AI in our lives will be accelerating and unpredictable.
• What should a CIO be doing to embrace this innovation?
• What are the vendors who support our industry doing to incorporate new functionality that takes advantage of it?
• What are the Security, Governance and other risks associated with ChatGPT-based services?
