eSentio expert, Rob Kerr, was invited to chair this one-day conference which focused on strategic business continuity and disaster recovery topics such as Is Your Firm Prepared for the Next Disaster?, How Experience Impacts Strategy and Planning and Assessing Your Firm’s Current Business Continuity Capabilities.
In addition to acting as conference chair, eSentio joined clients in discussions on the following two crucial topic areas.
How Achievable is High Availability?
Organizations pursuing aggressive Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) are finding technical, operational and budgetary hurdles difficult to overcome. Rapid RTO/RPO objectives significantly increase cost and complexity of a transition that is anticipated to be relatively seamless. Identifying true capabilities and expectations can be critical to a successful BCP program. Additionally, this type of transition usually spans a long timeframe and requires a careful examination of the BCP strategy at each critical milestone. This case study will present the steps taken by one firm in its quest to achieve true availability through a BCP strategy.

Business Continuity Planning as a Client Service Issue
Traditionally, Business Continuity Planning has been viewed singularly as a risk mitigation issue – with interest waxing and waning in the face of the most recent crisis. Recent focus on BCP as a client service challenge has brought new awareness to issues associated with proper management and availability of client information. This panel discussion will focus on challenges facing organizations in ensuring that BCP is a recognized and critical component of a firm’s business and client service strategy.

eSentio held its Strategic Business Continuity Planning and Disaster Recovery Workshop. eSentio leadership and senior technology executives from some of the largest law firms came together to examine and evaluate innovative solutions from strategic and operational perspectives.
This half day workshop focused specifically on two leading business continuity issues – challenges surrounding continuously available-environments and the design and testing of a business continuity/disaster recovery plan. They held an intriguing discussion and walked away with concrete and practical approaches to implement at their own organizations.

Yvonne Dornic and the eSentio Technologies Team hosted a very special event for clients, friends and partners during ILTA 2006. The eSentio New Orleans Jazz Celebration was held at Isleworth Country Club in Orlando, FL, the breathtaking and exclusive country club that is home to Tiger Woods and many other celebrities. The evening featured a fabulous 6-course wine dinner, terrific company and an unforgettable zydeco band and dance team. Attendees participated in a wonderful silent auction and raffle that benefited The New Orleans Musicians Hurricane Relief Fund, a charitable organization dedicated to aiding and funding New Orleans musicians who suffered great losses due to Hurricane Katrina. By the time the evening had come to an end, eSentio’s guests had helped to raise nearly $15,000 for the charity, while treating themselves to an exceptional night of dinner, dancing and fun.
